Pores to Landscapes

What can disturbance-driven soil transformations tell us about our future resources?

New soils are emerging under our changing climate.

During my PhD and postdoc, I studied how freeze-thaw cycles affect permafrost soils in Alaska, with my research focusing on cross-scale impacts to soil structure and biogeochemistry. My recent research examines redox conditions and nutrient solubility in thawing permafrost in the Arctic (Alaska) as well as freeze-thaw disturbance from the pore to landscape to biome scale.

I am currently a Research Soil Scientist with USDA-NRCS National Soil Survey Center. I am located in Knoxville, TN, and my research interests span the US Southeast and Alaska.
